This tour is short on distance and long on chillaxation.

We’ll take a short paddle down the Rocky River to Lake Erie, where we’ll sit (or stand!) and enjoy a classic Lake Erie sunset.

It’s the perfect way to unwind at the end of a long weekday.

Distance: 2 miles

Duration: 2 hrs (1 hour paddling, 1 hour relaxation)

Difficulty Rating: Novice

  • A spectacular river valley with impressive shale and limestone cliffs; riverfront homes (including the Elliot Ness home) and marinas. Wildlife sightings include: great blue heron; mallard ducks; wood ducks; cormorants; and graybacked seagulls; arctic terns; cliff swallows. And, of course, the Lake Erie sunset.

  • While the Rocky River is always calm, Lake Erie is a dynamic body of water, so conditions vary depending on the wind. We will not venture into the Lake if waves are over 2ft., but it may be choppy at times.

  • Standup paddleboard and equipment (paddle, life-jacket, whistle, spray skirt, and white safety light).

  • This tour meets at the 41 North rental center in Lakewood.
